One of the greatest benefits of working directly with consumers is the opportunity to continually learn. I recently had the chance to read a consumer’s testimonial provided to Cure My Score. I was enlightened about the mindset of this consumer who was living with impaired credit for many years.
I was blown away to discover this consumer waited over 1 year before requesting credit help due to credit embarrassment. He knew he needed credit score help but was embarrassed by his low credit score. After seeking credit score help, his embarrassment quickly changed to gratitude and pride. Yes, this consumer took the steps to understand credit scoring, made some changes in his life and had a number of mistakes corrected on his credit. He now financed a new car with a low-interest rate and is currently in the market for a new home.
Please don’t let embarrassment stop you from taking steps to improve your credit score. Regardless of why your score is low, you can start to work on improvement. A low credit score may not even be your fault. According to a 2013 FTC study, 1 in 5 consumers’ credit reports contains errors.
Don’t let past credit mistakes or errors keep you from obtaining credit improvement. Educate yourself on how credit works and create a plan for improvement. By taking these steps, you too will change embarrassment into PRIDE!
